Ian Sollom Backs Ed Davey’s call for the PM to defend the BBC against Trump attack

Ian Sollom MP has come out in support of Liberal Democrat Leader Sir Ed Davey’s letter to the Prime Minister calling for him to defend the BBC against Trump and his cronies. The letter describes the BBC as being the world’s most trusted source of news and that the attack on it by the President, including describing its journalists as corrupt, cannot be tolerated.

Ian said: “I wholeheartedly agree with Ed Davey that the Prime Minister cannot stand by and allow Trump to attack the BBC and attempt to undermine the UK’s values of a free press and free speech, which are fundamental to our democracy. 

“The BBC belongs to Britain, not Trump.”
