Save Broad St trees

There is an immediate risk to the street trees on Broad Street because the housing development companies who have responsibility for their maintanence are considering removal of the trees to deal with problems related to how they have been managed over the last 25 years.

We believe that these trees provide an iconic entrance to our town and are deeply valued by Cambourne’s residents throughout the seasons. The trees are crucial to the Christmas lights which welcome us into Cambourne every winter. Trees provide shade, help manage water flow and heat in this built up area of the town. Their loss would be terrible.

We are asking for community support to make the developers fully aware that such action would be strongly against the wishes of the people of the town.

Signing this petition will give us the strength needed to lead the actions necessary to ensure that these special trees are preserved and not cut down because they require maintenance. There needs to be proper evaluation of all options with the aim of preserving the trees as the main goal of any actions that need to be taken.
